Creating DIY Jewelry with Shells: A Guide

Gather Materials

Once you have all these materials, you must prep them before starting the process. For instance, you must cut the knotting cords according to the jewelry piece you intend to make. Knot the Strings & Attach the Shells

Now that you have everything you need, you should start by tying a knot on the strings so that they can hold the shells. It’s critical to tie the knot as tightly as possible so that the shells don’t fall off while you’re wearing them.

 

Once you’ve tied the initial knot, attach the first shell and tie another knot below it to secure it. Repeat the process until all the shells have covered the string. Remember to tie the last knot at the string’s far end after all the shells are attached.

Finish the Ends

Once both string ends are tightly tied and secured, use a pair of scissors to cut the remaining cord. However, remember to leave around half a centimeter of string for finishing purposes. Use a lighter to melt the ends carefully.

 

This finishing process will prevent the ends from fraying.
